Stop Taking Vitamin D Until You Get This Test
The problem with jumping on the vitamin/nutrient bandwagon because it is in vogue can be a critical health mistake.
Take, for example, Vitamin D, as I know most of you will run out to your GNC or Walmart to pick up your Vitamin D because everybody told you so.
First, if you have high calcium, which 80% of the adult population does have high calcium, then vit D will increase soft tissue calcification.
Meaning, the calcium will not be getting into the bones like you think it will and where it belongs, but it will become all of your deposition diseases such as arteriosclerosis, cataracts, gallstones, kidney stones, deposition/plaquing in your brain, joint and bone diseases, etc.
Furthermore, vit D will use up your critical Magnesium as you need Mg to activate the enzymes that convert Vit D into its active form, for which the conversion—or you could say the activation—of Vit D is Mg dependent.
Mg is the quarterback in the mineral system as it is the original Sun nutrient, not vit D.
In the blood of all plants, chlorophyll, you will find a molecule of Mg at the center of its porphyrin ring as Mg is responsible for photosynthesis—making it the quintessence of the sun.
Mg is needed to repair the DNA/RNA enzymes, as you could say, Mg is the fundamental nutrient in the DNA auditing system.
Furthermore, it is required to activate ATP; the universal life currency as ATP without Mg will not work.
Let's not forget that Mg is involved in more enzymes than any other nutrient in the body, raising its social status as chief executive administrator of the nutrient systems in the body.
Furthermore, Mg is lost by stress, alcohol, caffeine, and will also be lost by activating the excess vitamin D that you are taking.
That can be fatal!
What makes Mg so interesting that it is blocked by heavy metals such as cadmium, Hg, and copper, which is why toxic metals will decrease your energy —because you won't make adequate ATP.
So with our already deficient Mg status taking Vit D can undoubtedly add fuel to the fire.
To really understand the status of Magnesium, a blood test will tell you nothing as 99% of the Mg is intracellular, meaning it is in the cells, not the blood.
However, a hair tissue mineral analysis (HTMA) is the single greatest test for analyzing the magnesium status of the body.
